Upgrading your Gas Flow Control within Bioreactor Technology
The Bio Industry has evolved over recent years, making VA (Variable Area) Flow Meters unsuitable for an arena driven by such demanding, delicate and critical processes. Mass Flow Controllers from Vögtlin are an ideal solution for these types of scenarios.
We'll outline how simple implementing a Vögtlin modular system can be, no matter what your requirements or budget you've decided on for your gas flow project.
"At Infors we strive to provide highly advanced bioprocessing solutions based on reliable hardware, intelligent control systems and innovative bioprocess platform software in order to create maximum value for our customers. The Vögtlin mass flow controllers fit perfectly into this concept and enable us to provide our customers with solutions for precise pO2 control at all times. Therefore, we’re happy to recommend Vögtlin products to all our customers."

Controlling the Bioprocess
Another important factor in the bioprocess is obtaining an accurate pH value. For microbial bioprocesses this can be accomplished by adding liquid acids and alkalis and for cell culture, only liquid alkalis would be used. Liquid acid can damage the cells, so C02 is utilised instead. Although there are multiple processes surrounding the use of gas in bioreactors, gas flow control is critical in each case. Reliability and safety is key in all aspects.
Many bioprocesses require automation and some more demanding processes also require a higher performance (mainly focusing on repeatability). Due to these demands we are often requested to upgrade older Variable Area based gas supply systems to modern automated controls with this better performance.
